Is there anything better than going to your favorite Froyo place in the summer and loading up a bowl of frozen yogurt with all your favorite toppings? 🍓🍪🍫🫐🍍🍬 Sometimes I think the toppings are the best part! However, the more toppings, the more things seem to add up😳💰
So if you’re like me and don’t necessarily want to spend a small fortune every time you go for froyo, this Ninja Creami frozen yogurt is the perfect solution! Make this vanilla frozen yogurt recipe at home and load it up with as many toppings as you want, with NO EXTRA CHARGE! I mean, you can have a topping free-for-all and add any topping you want! Seriously, it’s the best!!

- Greek yogurt: Make sure to use Greek yogurt, not regular yogurt for the creamiest texture! I used Fage, full-fat greek yogurt.
- Heavy cream : To get the best, thick, creamy consistency I like using heavy cream for this frozen yogurt recipe. You can use regular milk but just note that the yogurt won’t be as thick or creamy.
- Granulated sugar: Use more or less sugar depending on how sweet you want your frozen yogurt. Also, feel free to use your favorite sugar alternatives like monk fruit , stevia , or Swerve .
- Vanilla extract : Use pure vanilla extract (I prefer this over imitation vanilla) or vanilla bean paste for a more intense vanilla flavor.
- Topping ideas: Fresh berries, granola , sprinkles, chocolate chips, crumbled cookies , mint chips, chocolate syrup, etc.

Mix base ingredients
Add all the ingredients to a blender and blend until smooth (~20-30 seconds). Pour the mixture into an empty CREAMi™ Pint.

Freeze❄️
Freeze the pint on a level surface with the lid off, for 24 hours. Tip: Freezing with the lid on creates a hump at the top of the ice cream, which can damage the blade, so be sure to leave it off.

Spin!🌪️
Remove the pint from the freezer and assemble into the Ninja Creami base. S elect the frozen yogurt program and spin! (If your Ninja Creami doesn’t have a frozen yogurt cycle, select Lite Ice Cream and spin).

Expert Tips
- Don’t overblend: You only need to blend for 20-30 seconds. If you blend too long, your yogurt mixture will become foamy and won’t fit in the pint container.
- Don’t skip the freezing: Make sure to allow your pint at least 24 hours to freeze before spinning. This step is crucial to the process! I have tested after 8-12 hours frozen, and while it does work, the consistency is not as thick and creamy.
- Freeze with no lid : It’s important to freeze the pint on a level surface and without the lid. If you freeze it with the lid on, it can form a hump on the top which can damage the blade when you put it in the machine to spin
- Re-spins: If your pint isn’t smooth and creamy after the initial spin, you can re-spin until you get your desired consistency.
- Don’t overfill the container: Make sure not to overfill the pint container. The frozen yogurt will expand in volume as it spins so don’t worry if it looks like the pint isn’t initially full.
Variations / Substitutions
- Fruit flavor: If you’re craving something a little more fruity, try my Strawberry Frozen Yogurt .

- Mix-ins: Use a spoon to create a small hole in the center and add your favorite mix-ins like chocolate chips, Oreos, sprinkles, etc. then run the Mix-in cycle. Or, you can just add on top after mixing!

Storage / Freezing
- If you don’t finish the pint, use a spoon to smooth and level out the top of the remaining frozen yogurt and place it back in the freezer with the lid. When ready to eat again, respin the frozen pint until you reach your desired consistency.
What kind of yogurt should I use for this recipe?
I highly recommend using full-fat, Greek yogurt. Regular yogurt just will not give the same thick consistency. You can use reduced-fat greek yogurt but I would not recommend using fat-free. Try to use a Greek yogurt that has at least a little fat in it. The fat content helps give the creami the right texture/consistency.
Why does my Ninja Creami have a “hump” on top after I freeze it?
Freezing your base with the lid on can create a “hump” on the top. To avoid the hump, place your Creami containers in the freezer on a flat surface without the lid until frozen. You want to make sure to freeze your pints with a smooth top for the best results while spinning and also to avoid any potential damage to the blades. If you’re making multiple pints at once, you can place the lids on the containers after they are frozen for easier storage.
What cycle should I use if my Ninja Creami machine doesn’t have a frozen yogurt cycle?
Some models of the Ninja Creami don’t have a frozen yogurt cycle. If you’re Ninja Creami doesn’t have a frozen yogurt option, just use the Lite Ice Cream cycle to spin.

Vanilla Frozen Yogurt (Ninja Creami)

Ingredients
- 2 cups full-fat Greek yogurt or yogurt of choice if using a flavored yogurt, adjust added sugar to your prefernce
- 1/3 cup heavy cream
- ¼ cup granulated sugar more or less depending on how sweet you want your dessert, and feel free to use your favorite sugar alternatives
- 2 tsp. vanilla extract or vanilla bean paste
- Pinch of salt
- Garnish ideas: fresh berries, granola, sprinkles, chocolate chips, mint, chocolate syrup, etc.
Instructions
- Add the base ingredients to a blender: Add the Greek yogurt, heavy cream, granulated sugar, vanilla, and salt to a blender. 2 cups full-fat Greek yogurt or yogurt of choice, 1/3 cup heavy cream, ¼ cup granulated sugar, 2 tsp. vanilla extract or vanilla bean paste, Pinch of salt
- Blend until smooth: Blend for about 20-30 seconds, just until smooth. Start Timer
- Pour into container: Pour the mixture into an empty CREAMi™ Pint.
- Freeze: Freeze the pint on a level surface in the freezer, with the lid off, for 24 hours. (freezing with the lid on creates a hump at the top of the ice cream, which can damage the blade, so be sure to leave it off).
- Assemble: Remove the pint from the freezer, place it in the outer bowl, and lock the lid on top. Place the bowl assembly on the motor base, twist the handle right to raise the platform, and lock it in place.
- Spin it! Select the frozen yogurt program. If still icy and not creamy enough, respin 1x if needed :)
- Enjoy: Remove the pint and enjoy right away with any mix-ins on top! Garnish ideas: fresh berries, granola, sprinkles, chocolate chips, mint, chocolate syrup, etc.
